In a significant development for the sports footwear industry, NBA sensation Austin Reaves has inked a multi-year contract extension with Rigorer, a renowned performance footwear company. This collaboration, marked by the release of the Rigorer AR1, has now been elevated, with Reaves securing a shareholder position in Rigorer.
Reaves, who has made a name for himself with the Los Angeles Lakers, has seen his signature shoe achieve remarkable success—the initial colorways witnessed rapid sellouts, including the Stars & Stripes and Ice Cream renditions. The decision for this extension, which involves a seven-figure agreement, was influenced by a shared commitment between Reaves and Rigorer to continue developing the AR line and their shared vision of offering high-quality, affordable products globally.
Reaves stated on this extension, “I'm proud to continue this partnership with Rigorer; the incredible team has developed a shoe that aligns with my values - High-performance accessibility. To celebrate this new chapter in their partnership, Reaves and Rigorer are launching a new AR1 colorway named “Milky Way.” This design, featuring a blend of purple and blue, symbolizes Reaves' significant career milestone and the festive season. The Milky Way AR1 stands out visually and incorporates the latest performance technology, a testament to Rigorer’s commitment to innovation in basketball footwear. Including the bubble lacing system, woven cocoon upper, and the Showtime foam in the midsole.
