Japan’s BMX and skateboarding scene houses many creatives who push the boundaries of fashion in the culture. One of these creatives is Motomichi Sekimura, AKA QDS. Dating back to the 1990s, QDS would design bespoke colorways for local BMX athletes. Inspired by one of these bespoke colorways on the Puma Havana, Puma alongside atmos, DUSTYCHAMP and QDS bring this handmade colorway onto the Puma Suede.
Constructed out of suede and leather across the upper, the entire silhouette is covered in black, with gold and green accents. These accenting colors can be seen throughout the gold stitching with green appearing on the tongue. Helping reinforce the BMX motif, the Puma branding on the midfoot is constructed out of Kevlar with the aforementioned gold stitching running back to the Puma branded heel tab. Finishing the colorway is the black midsole matched to the translucent rubber outsole with gold glitter underneath. Alongside the sneaker, an entire apparel capsule will be released at multiple atmos locations in Japan.
The atmos x DUSTYCHAMP x QDS x Puma Suede was raffled off exclusively through atmos Japan online from February 8th-February 10th, 2022 for ¥20,035 (Approximately $173 USD) with the apparel releasing in-store at multiple atmos Japan locations.
