The heart of any good neighborhood is the local bakery. On the East Coast, that typically means Italian pastries like lobster tails, sfogliatella, maritozzi, and of course, cannoli. The soft flaky shell filled with whipped ricotta filling and chocolate chips is the backbone of any Italian pastry shop worth its weight in dough. At Staten Island-based sneaker boutique Asphalt NYC, the dessert serves as the design inspiration for a new adidas collab.
Flaky, Delicious Flavor
Arriving just in time for every bridge and tunnel tourist’s favorite NYC holiday, the San Gennaro festival, the Asphalt NYC x adidas Samba Cannoli is a 600-pair exclusive collab with a shiny brown and wheat gold upper with pink Stripes and three interchangeable tongues in brown, tan, and pink for an easy flavor switch. A gold cannoli lace charm is added at the bottom lace.

“This story goes beyond what’s behind the glass. It’s about the New Yorkers surrounding it. Walk one block, and you’ll cross completely different worlds, different personalities, backgrounds, routines, and approaches to style,” Asphalt NYC wrote on Instagram. “Consider this our love letter to pastry culture, written by New York. Worn your way.”
