Although we are headed into the heart of the Spring season and past March, Asics seems to still honor St. Patrick’s Day. Many brands craft specific colorways that are an homage to the Irish celebration, and Asics is giving golf lovers and those of Irish heritage two-in-one sneakers - the Asics Gel-Lyte III “Shamrock.”
Seen in a mixture of short and long-haired suede across its upper, the model comes covered in shades of shamrock green. Representing the fairway on a golf course, pigskin nubuck underlays dress most of the upper while we see the overlays take on a shaggier finish. This rougher texture resembles the “rough” of a golf course with yellow accents on the sockliner, eyelets, and window on the toebox resembling flag pins. For branding, we see classic Asics logos on the midfoot and heel, with the latter featuring red accents. Underfoot sits a white Gel-cushioned foam midsole with more Asics branding paired with a tan rubber outsole, taking on shades of a caddie’s outfit and the sand traps on the course. Finally, we see the top-down view of a golf course’s architecture printed on the insole which drives home the golf connection.
The Asics Gel-Lyte III Shamrock will be released on April 6th, 2023, through Asics and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
