Anthony Edwards’ adidas AE 1 Appears in a Purple Colorway for Overtime Select Players

Nearly two years removed from the AE 1’s debut, and we’re finally approaching the release of Anthony Edwards’ adidas AE 2. Even still, the German sportswear giant has a few more AE 1s up its sleeve, including an upcoming project with Edison Chen’s CLOT. Even more limited than that collaboration is a new player-exclusive colorway of the AE 1, which was made specifically for Overtime Select.
For those unfamiliar, Overtime Select is a women’s youth basketball league started by Overtime Elite in 2023 for players aged 15-18. Since its inception, adidas has sponsored the event and has even signed emerging talent to NIL deals, like Oliviyah Edwards and Kate Harpring. The league held its finals last night, with the All Knighters securing the OT Select Championship against ISO WRLD.
Debuted last night by WNBA star Erica Wheeler, this new AE 1 marks the first Overtime Select PE from The Three Stripes. The pair itself features a pearlized purple color on the Generative Support Wing that matches the league’s logo, accented by a stark white knit base layer. More white details land on the lace set, tongue, and Three Stripes on the purple faux carbon fiber heel counter. Final details include a Lightboost and Lightstrike-cushioned midsole, also coated in the pearlized purple found on the upper, and a tonal rubber outsole.
Unfortunately for most of us, this adidas AE 1 Overtime Select will be exclusive to players in the league and to select WNBA talent.
