What happens when two cowboys from Texas step into Beverly Hills? Well, if the Texans are Dallas Mavericks stars Kyrie Irving and Klay Thompson, they turn the ritzy LA shopping district into a madhouse. That’s what happened Friday afternoon when Irving and Thompson showed up at the grand opening of America’s first ANTA flagship retail store, and luckily, we were there to take in all the mayhem.
The scene spilled out onto the street on N. Beverly, with fans, athletes, and corporate bigwigs alike crowding around the red ANTA storefront. ANTA’s first stateside store is filled with large pictures of Kyrie on the walls and plush couches, alongside custom installations like a Kyrie Hélà art piece with shoes jutting out in every direction.
“Opening our first U.S. flagship in Beverly Hills is a defining moment for ANTA,” Samuel Tsui, CEO of the ANTA Brand, said in a statement ahead of the store’s grand opening. “This store represents our commitment to the U.S. market and our belief that sport, culture, and performance innovation belong on the world’s biggest stages.”
After the ribbon was cut with the Mayor of LA, the celebration moved inside the store, where Tsui announced that ANTA had signed Thompson to a lifetime deal and presented him with a silver colorway of the ANTA KT11 and a custom “Klay for Life” jacket. If you’re in LA, check out the new ANTA flagship store at 330 N Beverly Dr. in Beverly Hills.
