Illustrator and artist Anderson Bluu took the alternative route when it came to developing his own brand, Bluu Dream, learning everything on his own after college and creating this all-encompassing label. As an NYC native, Bluu is looking to pay homage to those summer days when the ice cream truck would roll down the block with the help of Diadora, turning two colorways of the N.9002 silhouette into the classic flavors of “Vanilla” and “Chocolate” ice cream.
With the "Vanilla" colorway, the sneaker gets covered in white shades across the mesh underlay and suede overlays while colorful hits of blue and pink mimic sprinkles atop a delectable scoop. This vibrant shade of pink lands on the midfoot leather overlay, laces, and heel tab, while blue appears on the toebox, top eyestay, and branding details across the tongue. Back on the heel, an ice cream cone embroidery detail and co-branded custom printed insoles tie together the sweet theme. What’s a scoop of ice cream without a waffle cone? Well, this is represented through the tan sockliner and gradient pattern on the white midsole as well as the rubber outsole.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, the "Chocolate" pair, while featuring similar cream shades as the "Vanilla," is adorned with chocolate brown hits on the laces, midfoot logo, heel overlay, and sockliner. Down below, the silhouette sits the white foam midsole which also gets a gradient pattern, though this time in a tonal chocolate brown shade. Rounding out the entire look is the dark brown rubber outsole.
The Anderson Bluu x Diadora N.9002 Ice Cream Truck Pack is set to release on August 25th, 2022 exclusively through Foot Locker and Champs Sports.
