Japanese outdoor label and wander has been ascending in the fashion world with its technical-focused designs that bridge the gap between stylish and functional outerwear. Though its focus is specifically on apparel ready for the great outdoors, we’ve seen the label team up with Salomon, another brand primarily focused on providing functional outdoor-ready designs, on both the Jungle Ultra Low and XT-6. Moving away from the French-based brand, and wander is heading back to Germany for a second collection with adidas Terrex following last year’s collab on the Free Hiker 2.0.
Across a range of apparel and footwear, and wander connects adidas Terrex designs with the outdoors, as the entire collection sticks to an earthy color palette. Standout pieces include the RAIN.RDY Jacket, which boasts a waterproof and breathable design, and the and wander x adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2.0, a versatile hiking shoe with a unique aesthetic. The shoe offers a lightweight and durable construction, incorporating a recycled Primeknit upper, Boost cushioning, and a Continental rubber outsole for excellent grip on various surfaces. Across two colorways, one in men’s and the other in women’s sizing, earth tones shine through. The men’s pair comes in a clay-like brown with grey, white, and silver accents, while the women’s colorway gets dressed in a neutral tan, almost grey-like shade with similar accents.
While these pieces all provide form and function, both labels aimed to explore humanity's connection with nature. Birgit Freundorfer, senior design director at adidas Terrex, said in a release, “We were driven to design a collection that was inspired by the distinct colors of the outside world, and the feeling that connecting with nature gives us. There’s nothing quite like being outdoors, and we hope this collection encourages more people to enjoy nature’s innate benefits.”
The and wander x adidas Terrex Collection is currently available to purchase through adidas and select retailers online and in-store. The collection ranges from $130 for shorts and $350 for the RAIN.RDY Jacket. The and wander x adidas Terrex Free Hiker 2.0 retails for $250 for both the men's and women's colorways.
