The Aminé x New Balance 610 The Mooz Releases August 25

Aminé took to Instagram to tease his first sneaker collaboration, taking place on the New Balance 610. The Grammy-nominated artist has been a brand ambassador for New Balance since April 2022 and has been exclusively rocking NB footwear since. In an announcement video, we see Aminé looking up at a billboard reading, "A kid from Portland has his own sneaker." Alongside the text is logos for both parties involved, as well as Aminé's Club Banana, and a photo featuring of crates of bananas.

One week following this teaser, Aminé shared photos of the actual sneaker, which has been dubbed the New Balance 610 "The Mooz." Across the sneaker, we see a combination of yellow and brown, with the latter shade taking over the patent leather overlays. A spaced mesh appears below in a vibrant yellow hue matching the lacing system and leather piping for the brown "N" logo. Near the brown mesh collar sits a 610-branded window, featuring a snow globe-like effect with a floating banana sticker. Other added details include a co-branded tongue tag, Aminé branding on the split-colored insole, and iridescent hits along portions of the upper. Rounding out the design is the brown midsole with dark brown and yellow hits near the heel paired with a brown and yellow outsole.

On top of his Club Banana brand being represented through this color scheme and the banana crate-inspired packaging of the sneaker, the "Mooz" name comes from the word "banana" in Amharic, which is the language Aminé grew up speaking with is family.

The Aminé x New Balance 610 The Mooz will release August 22, 2023 on clubbanana.com. A release through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store will take place on August 25.
