Amine’s Club Banana Just Teased Another New Balance Project

Rappers have become the new athletes in the eyes of footwear brands. Even a label that gives off traditional energy like New Balance has tapped into the genre, enlisting the likes of Jack Harlow and Amine for collaborative campaigns over the last few years. While Harlow has been limited to one publicly available release and friends-and-family collabs, Amine has dropped five different sneakers with the brand. Following up on his Benson Tech-inspired 740v2 from last November, the rapper’s Club Banana imprint has just teased a new Amine x New Balance project.

The teaser post doesn’t reveal anything about the upcoming project, only displaying a chalk sign with logos for Amine, Club Banana, and New Balance. Amine first signed with New Balance as a global ambassador in April 2022 and released his first project, the New Balance 610 The Mooz, in August 2023. The pair took inspiration from bananas, with the title coming from the Amharic word for the fruit (mooz).

Following the banana-inspired 610, three pairs of “Mini Mooz” sneakers were released in ultra-limited quantities in November. Only 100 pairs of the Yellow and Green 610S were produced, while 303 pairs of the Brown colorway were produced. Things remained quiet until the end of last year, when New Balance revived the 740, an early 2010s runner that has since become a staple in their release lineup. Amine helped kick off the second run of the sneaker with his Benson Tech-inspired colorway, a nod to his high school.
