An OG Jordan 7 colorway is set to close out 2022.
Last seen in 2011, the original Air Jordan 7 “Cardinal” is finally set for a return. In celebration of the AJ 7’s 30th Anniversary in 2022, we are seeing various colorways of Michael Jordan’s seventh signature silhouette release. However, out of all the colorways that have been announced so far, no OG’s have been announced. That all changes today as we can confirm that the original “Cardinal” colorway will indeed see a release this year.
Originally released in 1992, the Air Jordan 7 “Cardinal” would get retroed for the first time in 2006. It would later re-retro in 2011 and then get an all-over 3M makeover as a part of the “Reflections of a Champion” Pack in 2019. Now, thirty years later, this iteration will be true to the OG.
The only thing changing so far is the labeling of the “bronze” accent color to “chutney.” Other than that, this pair will come in the classic white, black, and cardinal red colorway we are all familiar with. Sporting a white-based upper with chutney now accenting the embroidered Jumpman on the ankle as well as the back heel pull tab. Black and cardinal red accents are found in the usual places, along with the AJ 7s signature Neoprene inner bootie and OG “Nike Air” branding on the insoles. This pair will also come in OG-style packaging.
The Air Jordan 7 Retro Cardinal is set to release on November 26th, 2022. It will drop at Nike as well as select Jordan Brand retailers worldwide, both in-store and online. Coming in full-family sizing, retail is set at $200 for men. Keep it locked to our Twitter and Mobile App to stay up to date on future releases.
