Jordan Brand is Bringing Back the Air Jordan 4 Retro OG Fire Red in 2027

We’re just breezing through the 2020s, huh? Well, I think we can all agree the start of the decade was a blur, but did we expect time to pass this fast? It’s easy to notice when you start looking back at what Jordan retros are getting brought back because you could swear that pair just released two years ago. Nope, it was nearly a decade back. That’s the case here with the Fire Red Air Jordan 4, which is set for another return in 2027.

Air Jordan 4 Retro Fire Red History

Jordan Brand last brought back the Fire Red AJ 4, one of the original colorways of the Jordan 4 that was released in 1989, in 2020. The pair was the first retro release of the sneaker to feature Nike Air, as the previous retros in 2006 and 2012 featured Jumpman. The ‘06 pair was also non-OG thanks to the Mars Blackmon logo stamped on the lateral heel of the shoe, a nod to Spike Lee’s character from the film She’s Gotta Have It, who also starred in a number of Air Jordan commercials over the years.

As for the sneaker itself, it features a Chicago Bulls-friendly white, black, and red color scheme, primarily doused in white leather. Black details accent the mesh below the white netting of the midfoot and tongue, the Nike Air-branded heel tab, the support wing, and portions of the midsole. Fire Red details take over the wing eyelets, Jumpman atop the tongue, the Nike Air logo on the heel tab, and the front half of the sole unit. Finishing the sneaker is the red sockliner and red, white, and grey outsole.

The shape of the AJ 4 has changed since the 2020 release of the Fire Red 4s, but the 2027 retro will get another retooling. Images and specific details haven’t emerged just yet, but according to zSneakerHeadz and Sneaker Files, who broke the news of the retro return, we should see an even closer to OG retooling for this pair.

Air Jordan 4 Retro Fire Red 2027 Release Info

The Air Jordan 4 Retro Fire Red is rumored to release Fall 2027 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. As of now, the retail price has not been announced.
