The Air Jordan lineup has been a staple in the sneaker community since its inception. With each passing year, fans and athletes anticipate the next groundbreaking release from Jordan Brand. This anticipation isn't merely centered around the nostalgic retros; it extends to the latest additions to the series, defining the present and future of sneaker design. 2023 heralded the debut of the Air Jordan 38, a shoe that's already graced the courts in an array of vibrant colorways. And with winter just around the corner, Jordan Brand is gearing up to drop the Air Jordan 38 in a coveted University Red-based Celebration edition, an iconic color scheme that has been a mainstay in the brand's repertoire.
Dressed predominantly in the rich university red, the Air Jordan 38 pays homage to Michael Jordan's storied career. The bold red embellishes the toe, tongue, eyestays, and collar embroidery, creating a vivid contrast against the white base. An insightful nod to MJ's impeccable 1993 championship run is evident in the meticulously embroidered details. The 41 cross stitches encircling the collar symbolize his staggering 41 PPG average during those NBA Finals. Meanwhile, three diamonds etched on the medial side pay tribute to the '93 Finals, marking the Chicago Bulls' third NBA title win. White textile graces the midfoot and serves as the backdrop for the red embroidery, allowing it to take center stage. Down below sits a pristine white midsole reinforced by red TPU structures near the toe and midfoot. The look is completed with a semi-translucent rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 38 Celebration will release November 7, 2023, through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Offered exclusively in men’s sizing, the sneakers are priced at $200.
