Jordan Brand has a few iconic early colorways that will never leave the retro rotation. You might have to wait a while, but pairs like the Chicago 1, Bred 4, Grape 5, and True Blue 3 will always come back at some point or another. This year, it's the True Blue 3, making its first return in 10 years in the same (debatable) OG color combo as always.
Staying True to the OG
The Air Jordan 3 Retro True Blue has been on the release calendar for nearly a year now, and with the pair finally dropping this month, Jordan is rolling out new images to make sure we’re all prepped for the latest go-around. Beyond the 2016 pair, the colorway dropped in 2001, 2009, and 2011, along with the 1988 OG, of course.

Starting with iconic two-tone grey elephant print on the toe, heel, and middle of the lace panel, the colorway is covered with white leather across the entire upper. True Blue is added to the midsole, sockliner, and lace loops, with a hint of red on the Jumpman logo on the tongue and more blue on the Nike Air heel branding. Some have noted that the “True Blue” hue used on this retro is a bit different compared to previous releases, with mixed opinions regarding the change.
