Beaverton has never been afraid to mix and match. From hybrid Jordan models to indoor soccer shoe-inspired Air Maxes, Nike’s self-referential streak of mash-ups has produced plenty of misses, but an equal amount of unexpected hits, including the recent Jordan 40 costume changes. The latest look at a Jordan Brand x Nike crossover comes by way of an unrealized sample from the recent past, an ACG-inspired Jordan 3.
The Air Jordan 3 Retro ACG sample surfaced for the first time this holiday season, thanks to the exclusive resellers at RIF LA. A promo sample from 2023, the ACG-themed 3s start with earth tone suede in khaki covering the upper panels, and black and grey elephant print on the toe and heel panels. The lace panel and bottom half of the tongue are done in black rip-stop fabric for a classic all-weather look, and splashes of ACG color are added with a pinkish purple on the middle eyelets, heel tab, and hang tag, and yellow on the bottom eyelets and Jumpman logos on the tongue and heel.

To bring it all together, a classic ACG triangle logo is remixed into an AC3 logo with a Jumpman in the middle on the insoles, with speckling on the tan midsole adding even more outdoor energy to the pair.
The Air Jordan 3 Retro ACG sample is just that, a sample, and there are currently no plans for a wide release on the crossover colorway. RIF LA is a business, though, so if you’re willing to crack open the piggy bank, this pair could be yours. To stay up on all the latest rare Air Jordan news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
