However, as the first athlete outside of Michael Jordan to have a signature sneaker under the Jordan Brand, his legacy also includes remarkable contributions to sneaker culture. In honor of Melo's illustrious career, Jordan Brand has gifted the superstar a special two-pack of Air Jordan 2 colorways.
The first pair in the pack pays homage to Anthony's days with the Denver Nuggets, as it comes in a similar color scheme with metallic gold accents. These golden accents are on the eyelets and the Wings logo on the tongue. The second Air Jordan 2 Retro references his days with the New York Knicks. It comes in a black design with fiery orange and blue accents lining the edge of the leather, on the sockliner, and lacing set. Each shoe is further personalized with Melo branding on the heel and a plush quilted finish on the sockliner.
Unfortunately for the public, the Air Jordan 2 Retro Carmelo Anthony Retirement Pack will be exclusive to Melo and not be hitting retail shelves.
