While Air Jordans 1 through 14 are considered the most popular silhouettes, later models including the AJ 23 and AJ 17 enjoy a cult following. While neither have had proper retro runs, both have sporadically released since their debuts. The Air Jordan 17, originally released in 2002, remained in the vault until Jordan Brand retroed the AJ 17+ iteration in 2016 (not counting 2008s CDP). Outside of that, only two pairs have dropped since, the collaborations with Trophy Room and SoleFly.

Rumors of a Air Jordan 17 Retro have circulated for quite some time, and we can confirm the sneaker will officially return in Spring 2024. While we await a proper retro run, the highly coveted Air Jordan 17 Low Lightning is slated for a comeback. Remaining faithful to the OG, 2024's iteration will feature a white-based leather upper with black accents, lightning yellow detailing, and a hit of chrome. The sneaker will be housed in the famed briefcase that features Jumpman branding.

The Air Jordan 17 Retro Low SP Lightning was originally set to release on February 10, 2024. After a slight delay, it will now drop on May 30, 2024, through select NBHD retailers. For info on NBHD stores, check here. Coming in men's sizing, retail is set at $300. For the latest information on this and other Jordan releases, download the Sole Retriever Mobile app.
