Jordan Brand went all in for the label’s 40th anniversary in 2025. A slew of collabs, ultra-limited drops, and most importantly, retro releases of OG colorways graced the release calendar throughout last year. That’s not stopping Jordan from pulling from the archives in 2026, as we’re set to receive quite a few original releases in retro form. One of the first for the year is the Air Jordan 13 Chicago.

Also referred to by some as the “True Red” or “Cherry” Air Jordan 13, this pair was originally released during the model’s first run in 1998 and was worn on the court by Michael Jordan himself. Since its OG drop in the late ‘90s, the color has been retroed twice, once in 2010 and a second time in 2017, making this 2026 release only the fourth opportunity we’ve had to cop a pair.

The silhouette looks just as it did some 28 years ago, as the upper is covered primarily in white tumbled leather with quilted dimples throughout the side panels. Jordan’s Jumpman logo stands out in black on the tongue, while a black tag with white “JORDAN” text rests on the vamp. The iconic cat eye on the collar, which references MJ’s “Black Cat” nickname, is rendered in the classic iridescent green hue, using a lenticular print of a Jumpman logo and his number “23.” Final details include the red suede panels below the white leather, a red suede and black foam on the midsole, and a white, red, and black outsole.

The Air Jordan 13 Retro Chicago will be released on March 13, 2026 through Nike and select retailers online and in-store.
