This year marks the 30th anniversary of the iconic film Space Jam starring the one and only Michael Jordan. In the film, MJ, his buddy Bugs Bunny, and the rest of the Looney Tunes have to take on the Monstars in order to keep Toon World safe. The film cemented the Air Jordan 11 as a cultural staple that continues to play a major role in the sneaker world today. To celebrate the film’s anniversary, the Air Jordan 11 Green Screen takes us into the production room with a special effects-inspired look.
The Air Jordan 11 Green Screen draws from the behind-the-scenes moments of the hallmark film. Famously, MJ played against actors in green motion capture suits to portray the hulking Monstars on the big screen, and the new colorway implements that production focus on the legendary silhouette. Across its tonal green makeup, the sneaker elevates the monochrome look with a variety of quality materials.
Time to Slam Now
The upper features a smooth grass green nubuck on the side panel, toe cap, and heel with a debossed Jumpman on the lateral heel. A lighter pop of neon green shows up on the heel and lace panel. Leather lace loops match the shade of the upper, with the leather piece bridging the tongue reading “JUMPMAN JAM” in the Jordan 11’s signature font. The colorway features a suede-wrapped midsole, a detail only previously seen on the China AJ 11 from 2025, that gives way to a light green semi-translucent outsole with orange pods on the bottom akin to the nodes on set or a nod to Bugs Bunny’s favorite snack. The insoles feature the scene from Space Jam where Michael Jordan takes flight right before the famous stretching dunk.
The level of detail trickles down to the packaging with an appropriately green box showcasing Bang, the green Monstars’ hand grabbing a ring surrounding the Jumpman. Inside the box is MJ’s hand holding a film slate with roll 11, scene 23, shot 45, and take 6 as an homage to the model, Jordan’s jersey number, his return number, and number of championships, respectively.
