Jordan Brand partners with a wide array of NCAA programs, with HBCUs becoming a focus in recent years. This partnership includes the historic Howard University, which just signed a 20-year deal with JB in 2022, meaning we’ll see plenty of exclusives over the next two decades. One pair previewed in 2023 was the school’s AJ 1 Retro Low OG, which followed the same design motifs as other NCAA programs affiliated with Jordan Brand, like UNC and Oklahoma. As part of the Holiday 2024 lineup, which already includes pairs like the Jordan 9 Olive, Jordan 3 Black Cement Reimagined, and Jordan 6 Bred, Jordan Brand is giving the world a shot at owning a Howard-themed Jordan 1 Low OG.
While specific details about this AJ 1 Lows design are yet to be unveiled, the color scheme—white, gym red, midnight navy, neutral grey, sail, and muslin—hints at a palette that aligns closely with Howard University's aesthetic. However, it should be noted that the pair may not feature Howard branding like the PE and instead could be a nod to the school through a similar color palette.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro Low OG Howard will release in Holiday 2024 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $140.
