Ever since His Airness went toe-to-toe with Dominique Wilkins in the 1985 Slam Dunk Contest with a neck full of chains and his banned sneakers, NBA All-Star Weekend has played a major role for Jordan. Every year The Jumpman pulls out all the stops to celebrate the star-studded weekend and this year seems no different.
Nike Basketball recently unveiled official images of their upcoming fleet of All-Star signature silhouettes, all equipped with specialized lace jewels, but of course, on the court heat isn’t the only thing coming to Inglewood. Jordan is bringing a special Air Jordan 1 High OG to the City of Angels, with official images now appearing.
The Air Jordan 1 High OG All-Star blends a low-key colorway with premium materials for a clean look that evokes the vaunted Dior 1s. The sneaker matches the colorway down to the icy sole but opts for a material switch on the upper. The iconic silhouette comes constructed with a white tumbled leather base with grey shaggy suede overlays.
To accent the All-Star theme, the Air Jordan 1 High OG takes cues from last year’s Nike Kobe 6 Protro All-Star 2.0 by transforming the toe box’s standard perforations into star-shaped cutouts. Hints of black appear throughout the silhouette, including on the sockliner, laces, and the Swooshes. A pop of blue lands on the Nike Air tongue tag, which features a white star on the opposite side and an updated font for the front. Also adding to that premium feel is gold detailing on the wings logo and an icy translucent outsole to tie the look together.
The Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG All-Star will be released February 12 for All-Star Weekend in LA through Nike and select Jordan retailers in-store and online. Available in full-family sizing, the retail prices are set at $185 (men), $140 (GS), $85 (PS), and $70 (TD). For all the latest Jordan news, download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
