Jordan Brand may have one of the most iconic silhouettes in sneaker history, the Air Jordan 1, but not every version of this model hits the same with sneakerheads. Many look down on the AJ 1 Mid as this iteration of the classic sneaker often comes with cheaper materials compared to the AJ 1 High or Low. Even still, we see a slew of colorways hit shelves throughout the year, and the latest to be revealed comes in a clean “Black Vivid Orange Cardinal Red.”
Covered in nubuck across its upper, this AJ 1 Mid sticks to “Bred” style colorblocking as the mudguard, eyestays, quarter panel, and collar come in black. Accenting this is the orange hits found on the toebox, collar overlay, Swoosh, and heel. Lining the edge of the orange panels is a minor hit of cardinal red that makes each area pop. Black-on-black shades land on the tongue and lace set, with the Jumpman Air branding split between orange and red. Internally, the padding within this tongue is thicker than your standard AJ 1. Our final hits of branding come in the form of the Jumpman-laden insole with MJ's signature, and the jewel Wings logo placed on the collar overlay. Rounding out the look is the white AJ 1 midsole paired with an orange rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid SE Black Vivid Orange Cardinal Red will be released in September 2023 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store.
