Often looked at as the black sheep of the Air Jordan 1 family, the AJ 1 Mid is still a versatile sneaker in Jordan Brand’s large lineup of offerings. While many colorways on the model may take on more experimental designs, like the Wear Away iterations seen in 2022, some come inspired in a way from its cousin the AJ 1 High. The latter of the two is true for the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Mid “Orange Suede,” getting a stonewashed effect similar to that of 2021’s AJ 1 High “Hyper Royal.”
Just like the aforementioned AJ 1 High, this “Orange Suede” rendition of the AJ 1 Mid comes with overlays of, you guessed it, orange suede that appears to be stonewashed, giving the color a more muted pinkish appearance. This takes over the mudguard, eyestays, collar, and heel overlay while the base layer comes in a sail-shaded smooth leather along the toebox, quarter panel, and collar. The tongue comes in a more stark white shade with a black accent appearing via the Jumpman up top and sail making its way to the flat lace set. More black hits can be found on the leather Nike Swoosh and on the Jordan Wings while the sockliner nearby gets a more true orange makeover. Rounding out the design is the white AJ 1 midsole paired with a black rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid Orange Suede GS is set to release in the Spring of 2023 through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store. Coming in gradeschool, pre-school, and toddler sizing, the retail price is set at $120, $80, and $65 respectively.
