Jordan Brand often takes themes and colorways from one silhouette and applies them to multiple models. This is the case with next year’s Air Jordan 5 Retro Black Metallic Reimagined, as a Jordan 1 Mid has appeared that borrows elements from the iconic colorway.
Like the iconic Air Jordan 5 colorway that MJ wore, this Jordan 1 Mid takes on a primarily black color palette. However, unlike the AJ5, the pair sticks to a more traditional leather construction across its upper, breaking this up with the nylon tongue in silver that plays off the usual 3M reflective tongue of MJ’s fifth sneaker. Furthering this homage is the red woven tongue label and reflective details on the Swoosh and collar and heel overlays.
Air Jordan 1 Mid Black Metallic
A white Jordan Wings logo comes embroidered along the collar, being the only other hit of white on the upper besides the lace set. Below, the silhouette has a black rubber midsole and a semi-translucent icy blue rubber outsole.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid Black Metallic was released on January 23, 2025, and is available now through Nike and select retailers online and in-store. Available in men’s and GS sizing, the retail price is $135 and $120.
