Often looked at as the black sheep of the AJ 1 family, the Jordan 1 Mid is still a top priority over at Jordan Brand considering it landed at #7 on the best-selling sneakers of 2021. With a cheaper retail price and colorways that mimic its high-top counterpart, expect 2023 to host plenty of releases, like the upcoming Air Jordan 1 Mid “Black Gym Red."
Coming in a simple tri-tone makeup of black, gym red, and sail, the silhouette gives off vibes similar to 2019’s AJ 1 High “Black Gym Red,” though the colorblocking is slightly different. On the underlays, around the toebox, and quarter panel, sits a sail-colored leather while the overlays from the mudguard back to the heel don an all-black look. This sail-on-black combo continues with the tongue and lace set while the Jumpman branding up top begins the hits of gym red. More color appears on the sockliner, insole, and collar, as does the stamped Jordan Wings logo while the Nike Swoosh gets covered in black. Underfoot, a sail rubber midsole gets paired with a black rubber outsole, completing the design.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid Black Gym Red W is set to release in January 17th,2023, through Nike and select Jordan Brand retailers online and in-store.
