Jordan Brand has Apparel to Match the Air Jordan 1 High Shattered Backboard
Fashion today almost encourages you not to match your outfit, but back in our day, Nike and Jordan Brand would create matching apparel sets to pair perfectly with your newest kicks. This slowed down in the latter part of the 2010s and into the 2020s but Jordan Brand has begun bringing back the hook-up merch. We saw this with past releases this year, but it's been strongest with the recent re-release of the Air Jordan 1 Retro High OG Shattered Backboard.
Probably one of the best orange Jordans ever, the Shattered Backboard got retro’d for the first time ever in honor of its 10-year anniversary on August 23. To coincide with this, Jordan Brand dropped a series of apparel items that match the orange, black, and sail shades of the sneaker. This includes hoodies, jerseys, T-shirts, jackets, and pants.
A direct homage to the moment MJ shattered the glass backboard in Italy is found on the hoodie with a cartoon depiction, while other pieces just stick to the color palette of the silhouette. Another standout piece is the hockey jersey, which contains Michael Jordan’s number 23 front and center and satin orange paneling on the numbers, hem, sleeves, and shoulder.
