Jordan Brand is set to have a big year in 2025. It marks the 40th Anniversary of the sneaker that started it all, the Air Jordan 1. To celebrate, the coveted Air Jordan 1 Bred will get another makeover. It will return as an Air Jordan 1 High 85, this time in the most accurate iteration yet.
The classic Air Jordan 1 Bred has been released numerous times over the past forty years, with Highs, Mids, Lows, material changes, etc. No matter what, it is still one of the most popular sneakers ever. For Spring 2025, Jordan Brand will release the Air Jordan 1 High 85 Bred. What makes this Air Jordan 1 High 85 differ from the rest? It's the most accurate representation of the original Air Jordan 1 from 1985 to date.
Since Jordan Brand began the Air Jordan 1 High 85 in 2020, its goal has been to continue improving its design, creating a true 1:1 retro of its 1985 counterpart. With the upcoming release of the Air Jordan 1 High 85 Bred, Jordan Brand has taken giant leaps and bounds to create the best retro of the AJ 1. The brand improved on previous Air Jordan 1 High 85 Retros, using 3D data from original releases and samples from 1985. In addition, they improved comfort in the process. All the specs, including finishes, details, textures, logos, and materials, mimic the 1985 edition. This reverse engineering will also be used on all future Air Jordan 1 High 85 releases.
In addition, each pair will come in OG packaging—yes, the black/red Air Jordan 1 box. What's unique, though, is that JB heard our cries about how flimsy these boxes were, so they're reinforcing them, making them heavier and more durable. For accessories, each pair will come with the original Air Jordan 1 hangtag, a true 1:1 copy of the one packaged with the AJ 1 from its initial run.
The Air Jordan 1 High 85 Bred will release on February 14, 2025, exclusively via the SNKRS app and NBHD retailers. Coming in men’s and toddler sizing, retail is set at $250 and $75, respectively.
