The retro-inspired basketball silhouette is back.

It's been over a year since Teddy Santis broke the internet with his New Balance 650R teaser image. While the silhouette looks like something from the '80s or '90s, it's actually an all-new model that's directly inspired by the coveted 550. After dropping a selection of clean colorways earlier this year, the New York creative has returned, this time for two more exclusive colorways of the New Balance 650R, one in "Grey" and the other in "Blue."
Painted in grey and blue colorways respectively, both 650Rs feature all-leather constructions with mesh ankle portions for added breathability. The Boston footwear company's signature "N" logo is finely inlaid across the laterals and medials, while perforated side panels are decorated with 650 branding. Creamy white laces tie everything together for a vintage vibe, and this is accompanied by a complementary rubber midsole underfoot that adds to the old school aesthetic. Both sneakers arrive in special edition shoe boxes that are made for the collectors out there.
The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 650R Grey and Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 650R Blue are expected to release sometime in late 2022 or early 2023 in men's sizes. A retail price tag has yet TBA, but you can expect them to drop at ALD, New Balance, and select retailers worldwide, both online and in-store.
