Teddy Santis being named the Creative Director of New Balance brings one of fashion's freshest minds to a re-emerging brand in the sneakerhead world. This new title isn’t stopping him from working on his main focus, Aime Leon Dore. Frequently collaborating with the brand he has recently been hired by, their takes on classic New Balance sneakers have been highly sought after since their initial offering in 2019. Recently releasing their 993 collab last year in November, we are getting another shot at copping the ALD x New Balance 993 “Taupe” with an upcoming restock.
Coming up on its 14th anniversary, this New Balance 993 is dressed in shades of slate blue and white, accenting the taupe shades around the main overlays. This color palette is reminiscent of graffiti tags on NYC subway cars in the late 90’s. Standard mesh and suede is present along the entire upper with typical New Balance branding appearing on the tongue and mid-foot. ALD’s touch comes stitched onto the insole and imprinted on the heel of both pairs. Matched to a black Abzorb cushioned midsole and outsole, the silhouette stays true to form while being elevated through Teddy Santis’ touch.
The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 993 Taupe is set to restock globally on February 10th, 2022 through New Balance and select retailers online and in-store. Being offered in men's sizing, the retail price is set at $200.
