Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 650R Pre-Orders Are Arriving

As sneakerheads, we have to deal with sold out screens and limited releases almost daily. Solutions to this issue carry pros and cons depending on who you ask. For example, producing millions of pairs allows more people to secure a pair, however, the exclusivity that many sneakerheads crave disappears.

One solution to the difficulty of securing a W is the pre-order system, taking an unlimited amount of orders over a period of time and producing the amount of pairs ordered, which takes months to be delivered to the buyer. ALD and New Balance utilized this system for the return of the 650R silhouette last year with an expected ship date of early 2022. After a long wait, the time is here for pairs to arrive before their worldwide drop.

Coming in grey, green and navy colorways, the Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 650R is Teddy Santis’ take on the retro 80s basketball cousin of the New Balance 550. All three pairs are constructed with a mesh underlay and premium white leather overlay with hits of suede and perforations around the upper. New Balance branding appears on the midfoot “N” in suede, ankle support strap, as well as “650” printed onto the perforated leather overlay. A standard lacing system is utilized with two extra sets of laces included, working up towards the co-branded ALD and New Balance tongue tag. All of this is matched to an aged rubber midsole and outsole housing the EVA cushioned cup sole.

The Aime Leon Dore x New Balance 650R is set for a public release in 2022 with pre-ordered pairs shipping in February. Releasing through New Balance, ALD and select retailers, the three pairs will retail for $165.
