Their latest joint effort pays tribute to Dino Russo, an extraordinary tennis figure known for his undefeated streak on his home court. The tennis legends of Boris Becker, John McEnroe, Ivan Lendl, and Mats Wilander were among those who faced him and walked away defeated, even though Russo never turned pro. This upcoming release brings a vintage finish to the sneaker, paying homage to the legend that Russo wore the same pair of sneakers every time he played.
The AFEW x Diadora B.560 "Dino Russo" is crafted in low-top form and features a white leather base across the mudguard, toebox, and midfoot. The cracked leather Diadora logo in a warm tan aligns with the overlay on the heel tab, while a secondary tan hue highlights the used heel overlay, which bears a faded Diadora logo. Dino's signature adorns the Diadora logo on the midfoot, cementing its tribute. AFEW branding takes the spotlight on the tongue. Beneath the upper, an aged sole unit displays clay scuffs, hinting at intense tennis matches and countless victories.
The AFEW x Diadora B.560 Dino Russo will release on July 22, 2023, exclusively through a raffle via AFEW. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is approximately $259.
