Ye and his foray into basketball started with the release of the adidas Yeezy QNTM back during NBA All-Star weekend of 2020. Since then, we’ve seen plenty of pairs released with much less fan-fare than the original. Even after his Donda Doves prep team has taken the court, the basketball silhouettes haven’t seen much love, with the team mainly wearing adidas Yeezy 500s. While his newest silhouette the adidas Yeezy BSKTBL Knit “Energy Glow” just released, Yeezy is taking it back to the OG build with the adidas Yeezy QNTM “Mono Carbon.”
Coming in the Lifestyle variation, the upper is constructed with a primeknit spiral pattern of white and grey tones backed by a see-through monofilament mesh that gives off a 3M pattern underneath. As for the rest of the silhouette, we see DNA from the Yeezy 700 make its way onto the toe box with the synthetic suede fangs coming in a light tan accenting the black neoprene internal booty construction. Thick rope laces run up the hidden eyelets towards the black neoprene collar that meets the thick rubber heel counter with more 3M details. Rounding out the entire look is a slightly yellowed rubber midsole and outsole, encapsulating full-length Boost cushioning underfoot.
The adidas Yeezy QNTM Mono Carbon is scheduled to release on March 25th, 2022 through adidas Confirmed, adidas.com/yeezy, Yeezysupply, and select Yeezy retailers online and in-store. Releasing in men’s sizing, the pair will retail for $250.
