Back in 2019 and early 2020, images made the rounds online showcasing Ye’s newest footwear design, the adidas Yeezy Foam RNNR. As with most new silhouettes, the general public was not receptive to this wild, organic, Croc-like sneaker, though over time it has become a trailblazer in the industry. Its first release being on what Ye proclaimed to be the “West Day Ever,” the original "Ararat" colorway launched exclusively on Yeezy Supply and has remained one of the most limited pairs of Foam RNNRs. Now, days before Yeezy Day is set to go down, sources are stating that the original Yeezy Foam RNNR is making a return on this day full of releases and restocks.
Coming in its iconic one-piece EVA foam and algae composite construction, the model is dressed in a monochromatic white not too far off from the “Sand” colorway. Designed with ergonomics in mind, the molded foam gets various perforations and cutouts to allow for maximum breathability while the textured footbed provides instant comfort with each step taken. On the foam outsole, a wavy traction pattern is sprinkled with cutouts to allow for the foam to expand, making the sneaker even more comfortable. On top of the futuristic design, the use of algae in the model aids the efforts of adidas and Yeezy to create more sustainable models on top of the fact the box can also act as a shipping box, cutting back on cardboard waste.
Though as of this writing it is unknown if the pair set to drop will be newly manufactured or leftovers from the original release, the adidas Yeezy Foam RNNR Ararat is slated to release on Yeezy Day, which will take place on August 2nd in the US and August 3rd in the EU and Asia. Releasing in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $90.
