One of the most unique Yeezy 700 V2 colorways makes its return for the first time in 3 years.
Talking about Ye (FKA Kanye West) right now, it's impossible not to mention his rhetoric that has drummed up controversy after controversy as of late. Following his Season 9 fashion show that featured a “White Lives Matter” shirt, The Three Stripes came forward and stated their partnership was “under review,” though the man continued to reiterate dangerous ideology in spite of this. While many view adidas’ statement as a cheap PR move considering how much money the mogul generates for the brand, the continued release of Yeezy models is still going as planned. For the latest release, adidas is set to bring back a colorway of the adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 that hasn’t hit shelves in over 3 years, the “Tephra” colorway.
Going back to 2019, this was a time period in which Yeezy and adidas were playing around with material usage on various models, and the Yeezy Boost 700 V2 “Tephra” was a part of this as neoprene was utilized as the base layer for this particular colorway. As for the rest of the sneaker, the typical materials remain with suede and leather making up the overlays and underlays throughout the multi-paneled model. Starting on the toe, grey shades cover the infamous fang-like toecap while the eyestays deviate from this shade only slightly. 3M hits are also present here with one found via the toebox itself and on the lace loop at the bottom of the white lace set. Working along the profile, more reflective overlays make up the semi-hidden nod to The Three Stripes, sitting atop a grey neoprene while suede overlays contrast this in a darker brownish-grey. Underfoot, the iconic Yeezy 700 molded foam midsole gets a dark grey finish, as does the oval drips on the heel portion, while the entire design is rounded out by a gum rubber outsole that contains the full-length Boost cushioning system.
The adidas Yeezy Boost 700 V2 Tephra is set to restock in November of 2022 through adidas Confirmed, adidas.com/yeezy, Yeezy Supply, and select Yeezy retailers online and in-store. Coming in men’s sizing, the retail price is set at $260. Keep it locked to our Twitter and the Sole Retriever mobile app to stay updated on the latest happenings in sneakers, streetwear, and more.
