As one of Yeezy’s most polarizing designs, the colorways released on the Yeezy 450 so far have not done much to help its case. Aside from sample pairs that have popped up online, retail releases of the silhouette have stayed monochromatic with the majority coming in grey tones, as seen on the “Cinder” and “Utility Black” colorways. Continuing this trend of grey is the upcoming adidas Yeezy 450 “Stone Flax.”
The slip-on sock-like silhouette remains unchanged in construction as a thick one-piece Primeknit takes over the upper in a tonal shade of grey. Matching rope laces weave in and out of the knit eyestays extending from the upper, though they are strictly for design purposes as they serve no actual function. Around the knit collar is a more stretchy material compared to the rest of the sneaker, allowing for easy on-and-off wear. At the same time, the insole features some of the only branding details thanks to Yeezy, adidas, and Ortholite. Underfoot, the exoskeleton 3D printed sole unit wraps up throughout the upper providing support and cushioning to the sneaker. Rounding out the look is the wavy traction pattern on the rubber outsole in a tonal shade of grey.
The adidas Yeezy 450 Stone Flax is slated to release on October 21st, 2022 through adidas Confirmed, adidas.com/yeezy, Yeezy Supply, and select retailers online and in-store.
