At a moment in time, adidas was on top of the sneaker world, briefly taking over the top spot from Nike once silhouettes like the Ultraboost and NMD were selling out instantly. While Yeezy is often cited as their most innovative category, inline releases have been plentiful with new models, the latest of which is titled The Journey 1.
The silhouette comes dressed in a mixture of nylon, rubber, and mesh with Boost cushioning peeking out near the heel. On the toe, a rubber mudguard in cream wraps around the aforementioned ripstop nylon that covers the majority of the upper. Branding details land on the midfoot with the Three Stripes logo coming in an accenting grey. Weaving in and out of the eyestays is a set of dark grey laces, matching the tongue with its adidas logo coming in the same shade. Back on the heel, a plastic overlay creates a window for mesh to peek out while the heel tab nearby comes in hairy suede. Underfoot, a molded rubber midsole is paired with a rubber outsole reminiscent of the Yeezy 350 V2, all of which encases the full-length Boost cushioning.
The adidas The Journey 1 is slated to release in 2022 through adidas and select Three Stripes retailers online and in-store. As of now, sizing and pricing information is TBA.
