Arriving with the announcement that the adidas Spezial range would now collaborate with adidas soccer partners, a neutral collection is also being launched. The Lothertex Spezial and matching apparel in drab tones are on the way to keep from any club allegiances being formed. While this collection remains neutral in its branding, future iterations of Spezial F.C. products are expected to feature direct collaborations with soccer clubs that adidas supplies kits, further enhancing the brand's appeal to fans of the sport.
The Lothertex SPZL is the second iteration of the silhouette created after the 2022 release of the original as part of the adidas Spezial Pre-Spring 22 Collection. That pair drew praise from across the spectrum for its wearability and comfort while keeping a stylish aesthetic. Now being utilized to spearhead the new direction of the Spezial line, the continuation of using signature SPZL models is a staple of the range. This upcoming version offers a blend of vintage inspiration and modern execution; its subtle color palette makes it easy to pair with a wide range of outfits.
The adidas Spezial Lothertex Spezial F.C. features an upper crafted from premium grey tumbled leather, giving the shoe a textured, luxurious feel while ensuring durability. This dark and neutral grey is contrasted by white leather Three Stripes on the sides and the back heel tab, which adds a bold yet refined touch to the overall aesthetic. With the application of the waterproof adi-Tex lining, a design element the adidas Spezial team recently brought back to life from a previous era, they are perfect for casual winter wear. Black textured foxing wraps around the midsole with a herringbone sole underfoot.
The adidas Lothertex Spezial F.C. will release on September 15, 2024, through adidas and select EU retailers online and in-store. A worldwide drop will follow on September 17. Available in men's sizing, retail is set at $140. Download the Sole Retriever mobile app for updates on the latest from adidas and more in the sneaker and streetwear world.
