The Chinese New Year is coming up in February, and like every year, major sneaker brands are getting ready to celebrate the changing of the lunar calendar with shoes representing the animals of the Chinese Zodiac. With 2026 representing the Year of the Horse, adidas is taking it back to childhood games of HORSE and bringing the theme to the basketball court.

The latest adidas Chinese New Year sneaker is a Harden Vol. 10 in eggplant purple with black horsehair accents and a vibrant blue outsole, similar to the Vol. 9 that dropped last year for CNY. Seen in leaked photos from Instagram user @yyt_snkrs, the colorway covers the shoe’s concentric oval outer shell with a deep purple color, adding thick cream stitching separating the one-piece toe and side panels from the black inner bootie. The year of the horse theme is added with black horsehair on the heel panel, and a heel tab above that is done in a red and white zig-zag pattern.

We first saw previews of the adidas Harden Vol. 10 over the summer, but in the days since Harden debuted the shoe on court against the Lakers, we’ve seen a handful of leaks of upcoming colorways, adding a black patent Hellcat colorway to the mix alongside this purple Chinese New Year pair. In addition to the Harden Lunar New Year colorway, adidas is dropping an AE 2 for the holiday, as well.

The adidas Harden Vol. 10 Year of the Horse has only been seen in the leaked pictures, so we don’t have a release date or retail price on the pair just yet. To be the first to find out all the latest info about upcoming Harden Vol. 10s as soon as we do, Download the Sole Retriever mobile app.
