With the 2024 Summer Olympic Games fast approaching, adidas is preparing to celebrate this grand international event with a special release that pays homage to its deep-rooted Olympic history. Inspired by the Olympic Rings' colors and archival adidas apparel, The Three Stripes has crafted a pack of adidas Gazelle Indoor colorways for the event. Known for its classic silhouette and rich heritage, the Gazelle model has seen numerous iterations. However, this latest pack promises to stand out as it captures the spirit and tradition of the Olympics, an event where adidas has made significant marks throughout the decades.
The adidas Gazelle Indoor Olympic Pack features a distinct pinstripe canvas upper, a design cue drawn directly from the sprinter shorts worn by adidas athletes in the 1970s. This nod to history is combined with modern style and functionality. Suede details on the t-toe overlay and leather accents on the vamp and eyestays provide a premium touch. The white leather Three Stripes on the midfoot stand out against the pinstripe background, creating a visually appealing contrast.
Each colorway in the pack represents the Olympic rings, with the Blue pair featuring a red heel, the Black colorway with a yellow heel tab, and the Red pair with a green tab. This clever design brings the iconic Olympic symbol to life when the sneakers are viewed together. Additionally, the tongue tag features a torch logo intertwined with the five Olympic ring colors, further emphasizing the theme. The semi-translucent gum rubber midsole and gum outsole complete the look, adding a classic touch to the overall design.
The adidas Gazelle Indoor Olympic Pack has slowly been releasing through overseas retailers over the last week, with a US drop slated for sometime in 2024 through adidas and select retailers online and in-store.
