The adidas Campus 00 Gets UGGs-Inspired Winter Makeover
It’s still August, but frigid weather is right around the corner and adidas wants to make sure your feet are nice and toasty once winter hits. Taking clear hints from Australia’s favorite boot brand, UGG, The Three Stripes bulked up the legendary Campus 00 into two new silhouettes, a slide-on slipper and mid-top boot, both lined with fuzzy faux fur.
The adidas Campus 00 Winter Low is a mule with a slightly raised heel and thick platform sole, but otherwise keeps the shape and vibe of the classic Campus 00. The upper is full suede, with a fat skate tongue and Campus branding on the side panel. Despite its slip-on nature, the pair features a full set of functional laces, making it look just like a traditional Campus 00 from the front.
You can see plenty of clear UGG slipper inspiration in the Campus 00 Winter Low, but it’s the Winter Mid where the comparisons get glaring. With an even thicker platform sole, a mid-top construction, and faux fur lining busting out the sides, the boot is the sneaker industry equivalent of a wolf in sheep's clothing. The Campus 00s skate construction makes the Winter Mid feel a little bit like a Y2K IPath boot, so don’t be surprised if you see adidas’ sponsored skaters break these out for the East Coast winter.
The Campus Winter pack will launch in three matching colorways of the low and mid, triple black, beige, and dark brown. All six pairs of the pack feature uppers in full suede, monochrome down to the laces, fur, and matching soles.
All six pairs of the adidas Campus 00 Winter Pack will be released sometime before the year is out through select adidas retailers in-store and online. Available in women’s sizing, the prices are set at $130 for the low and $140 for the mid.
