At the end of 2024, adidas introduced the world to the Adizero Evo SL, a takedown version of their $500 Adizero Adios Pro Evo 1, which has gone on to become one of the most popular running shoes on the planet. It’s been so successful for The Three Stripes that they’re doing what adidas does best… squeeze every last drop out of the model. Just as the Ultraboost underwent numerous remixes and makeovers, pumped out like a wartime factory working overtime, we expect a similar treatment for the Evo SL. Sole Retriever already revealed the Exo variant of the model, and official images of the All-Terrain rendition just hit the ‘net last week. Now, we’ve got another exclusive first look for you: a zipper-covered Evo SL.

Like the other variants of the adidas Adizero Evo SL, this zip-up version doesn’t change the foundational technology and tooling of the sneaker’s sole unit. Instead, the upper gets a new look using a woven-like texture seen on the recent Audi collab, but now the Three Stripes extend across to the medial side and are connected. They pass over the newly added zipper cover, which shrouds the lacing setup below. Added ventilation on the midfoot between the Three Stripes aids in the breathability of the sneaker, something that will certainly be lacking with more cover around the forefoot and the use of a different woven material.

As mentioned above, adidas is betting big on the Adizero Evo SL as it did with the Ultraboost in the mid-2010s. The Three Stripes is no stranger to taking a popular sneaker model and pushing out too many colorways, collabs, and remixes to the point that it loses its hype. Luckily, running sneakers are all the rage, and the Adizero is leading the pack. Here’s to a few more years of Adizero hype (hopefully?).

The adidas Adizero Evo SL Zip will be released in multiple colors starting in June 2026. Retail is $10 more than the standard Evo SL, with this pair priced at $170.
