Australian Boutique Above the Clouds Adds a Woven Upper to the Asics Gel-SD LYTE

Above the Clouds is weaving a new texture into its ongoing Asics collab. The Australian sneaker boutique has been a staple partner in Asics’ return to the hype cycle, bringing new colorways of the GT-2160 and Gel-Quantum 360 to its storefronts in Sydney and Melbourne. For its latest pair, ATC is keeping it simple on the colors but adding new texture to a classic model.

Woven Into the Clouds

The Above the Clouds x Asics Gel-SD LYTE takes the lifestyle runner repopularized by recent Kiko Kostadinov colorways and trades the traditional mesh upper for woven side panels. In an Instagram post announcing the new pair, Above the Clouds describes the Gel-SD LYTE pair as “a study in structure, design and culture.”

Starting with color, the collab dips into a black hole with a triple-black upper to match the black midsole and outsole. A tough armored toe and side panel overlay sits above a criss-cross woven toebox and side panel structure before switching to wide black mesh on the tongue.

Above The Clouds x Asics Gel-SD LYTE Release Details

The Above The Clouds x Asics Gel-SD LYTE will be released September 25, 2026, through Above The Clouds in-store, followed by an online drop the next day.
