Salomon has elevated itself into a higher realm of fashion thanks to the new wave of gorpcore enthusiasts and through collaborative efforts with various high-end brands across the industry. Working with German-born designer Boris Bidjan Saberi in the past, the two European labels are joining forces once again and bringing forth the 11 By Boris Bidjan Saberi x Salomon “Athletic Bouldering” Collection.
Taking a variant of the Salomon XT, called the A.B. 1, Boris brings us a low-cut version of the model and covers the silhouette in a stealthy black hue, while he underlay around the midfoot and collar comes in a lighter shade of black. Nylon overlays zig-zag across the midfoot and stop near the lateral sides heel overlay, the latter of which hosts text with co-branded details. For lacing, we can see the model utilizes the Quicklace system Salomon is famous for as it takes on a bungee pull string allowing for easy lockdown. Underfoot sits a chunky all-black foam midsole paired with a matching rubber outsole. A clean white and lunar rock colorway will be released as well, sporting an all-white design with grey accents.
On top of the footwear, we can see in this teaser image outerwear that follows suit with the all-black design of the sneaker, likely constructed with weatherproof materials. On top of the shirt, pants, and parka, a co-branded backpack will also be a part of the collection.
The 11 By Boris Bidjan Saberi x Salomon Athletic Boulder Collection is set to release on October 17, 2023 season through Salomon and select retailers online and in-store. Retail for the sneakers, available in men's sizing, is set at $315. The clothing retails for $1,050 for the shell jacket, $300 for the hiking bag, $260 for the short sleeve shirt as well as the pants, and, $45 for the socks.
