A 10-Year-Old Pair of Kawhi Leonard Jordan 13 PEs Just Surfaced for Sale

When New Balance decided to become a player in the pro sports game, they started with the best players they could find, and on the basketball court, they were wildly successful with the signing of Clippers superstar Kawhi Leonard. Before he was the face of New Balance basketball, though, The Claw was a member of Team Jordan, and like the rest of the NBA’s Jumpman athletes, had access to a select number of extremely rare PEs.

The latest pair of Jordan Kawhi PEs to surface is a pair of all-black 13s made to match Leonard’s Spurs jersey for 2015 media day. Kawhi never took the pair out for media day, but he was seen in the shoes later that year. Now, 10 years since they made their brief debut, a pair of the shoes has popped up for sale on Instagram, with a hefty price tag of $8,500.

Available from exclusive reseller @pgknows, the size 14 pair is blacked out in premium materials with patent leather on the toe, pebbled leather on the upper, and suede on the side panels and heel. The Jumpman on the ankle and tongue, plus the Jordan branding on the vamp are all done in gold, along with Kawhi’s hand logo on the insole.

Now that Kawhi is firmly in the NB camp, old Jordan PEs will only become rarer and more valuable, but as for whether that justifies nearly ten grand for a Spurs-era PE, well, that’s for you to decide. Leonard also released an Air Jordan 1 during his Spurs days, with the Pass the Torch AJ 1 now fetching nearly $1,000 in many sizes on the aftermarket, so maybe that will suffice if you don’t have the $8,500 to cop the media day PE.
