The Nike Cortez was designed in 1972 by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman to be lighter and more comfortable than previous models. At the time, this was the revolution, the future of technology. Over the years, countless colorways have blessed the Cortez, from Forrest Gump to Fir, and Guava Ice. Next up for the Nike Cortez is a Muslin Viotech iteration, returning to early 00s style.
The Viotech color is nothing new to Nike, achieving popularity on iconic silhouettes such as the Dunk Low, Air Trainer 3, and Air Max 90. Now, Viotech makes its way onto another Nike classic, the Cortez, only this time, exclusively for the ladies. The Nike Cortez Vintage Muslin Viotech is stunning with a vintage look inspired by the ’72 original. You get an old-school feel with new premium materials.
The muslin-colored, hairy suede upper is plush, paired with coconut milk on the laces, tongue, and lining. Viotech makes its presence felt via the Swoosh on the sides, back heel tab, and stripe wrapping around the back heel of the midsole. A classic foam midsole sits atop a herringbone outsole to complete the look.
The Nike Cortez Vintage Muslin Viotech W will release on January 18, 2024, through Nike, SNKRS, and select retailers online and in-store. Coming in women’s sizing, the retail price is set at $100.
